1. Dialectologies:
WOW! I was totally amazed by the number of materials related to Dialects. There are about 200 books in this regard only. Including some very unique and even spectacular books like Farhang-i birinj dar zabān-i Gīlakī by Rūyā Ṣafarī Pāskah. Have you ever heard that there are 50 words for snow in Eskimo language? Well, while that might not be true, there is enough words and idioms related to rice in Gilaki dialect that there is a whole dictionary on it!
2. Articles: there are more than 100,000 articles about Farsi, 868 of them written in Persian, which means basically you can be searching for any linguistic property of Farsi and definitely find something. If you are doing a search on literature, you may find this useful A study of Persian speakers’ perception of stylistic variation in Persian languageby Moghaddam, Ahmad Saffar and Tafreshi, Atousa Rostam Beik
Because this book is about stylistics which is just as important in Farsi as movements such as Classicism and Romanticism is in Western literature.
3. Journals: very few journals. less than 20. but sometimes quantity doesn’t matter because you are getting something high quality and all the journals that U of T libraries have are very professional. As a linguistic, you might be more interested in things that are happening in the environment around you, especially because other people in Iran don’t have the opportunity to study what is going on with Farsi when it encounters other cultures and languages. Gulistan is exactly the journal you are looking for because it is about Farsi language and literature in North America. It also has some materials regarding Farsi as a second language which might be helpful if you are trying to learn Farsi.
